We are off to the races! Today, I am spending most of my time setting up the C++ project and learning how to use WinAPI. My plan is to make a game with heavy emphasis on using standard Windows GUI elements that interact with the main game screen. While today is mostly studying and boring boilerplate, I did end up making a run cycle for my main character:
The stick-figure design and yellow-on-black monochrome color scheme came to me in a dream, and the fluid movement without any vertical bobbing is a deliberate allusion to the Atari 2600 game Pitfall.
